Orges & The Ockus-Rockus

What a ride: Orges Toçe’s The Ockus-Rockus Band plays fingerpickin' country with a South-eastern European element and an intoxicated burlesque jazz aesthetic. Balkan beats, rock‘n‘roll, gipsy swing, blues, jazz and a considerable bit more are mixed to form a mixture which Toçe personally describes as “Balkanbilly”. Highly energetic roots music – until it glides into rolling ska or contemplative tenderness. Despite all its melancholy it is still always great for parties and Toçe mixes with bassist Tobias Vedovelli and drummer Christian Grobauer, sometimes also with former Zawinul saxophonist Andrej Prozorov.
