Music that breaks conventions without seeking approval, and that speaks equally to curious newcomers and seasoned purists alike—that is the vision of daoud. The French-Moroccan trumpeter and composer embraces challenging established conventions and ignoring the traditional rules of jazz. Instead, he creates a completely independent and uncompromising sonic force field, bringing together jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and elements of electronic music. His work is defined by a constant tension between playfulness and seriousness, chaos and tenderness, irony and sincerity.
