Founded 19 years ago on a mild February evening, the Django Party showcases a wide-ranging musical repertoire. Alongside well-known Gypsy swing classics, the four musicians perform jazz standards, bossa nova, musette waltzes, and everything from pop to soul classics. They also sing, with great enthusiasm, the occasional vintage German swing hit from days gone by.
After just a few bars, audiences experience the unmistakable “Django moment” – inspired by the incomparable style of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli’s legendary Quintette du Hot Club de France. The result is the joyful, energetic swing of the 1930s and 1940s, brought vividly to life.
