The Paris-based collective Les Frères Smith has been one of the defining voices of the European Afro-groove scene for almost two decades. Their unique sound blends Afrobeat in the spirit of Fela Kuti with the melancholic elegance of Ethio-jazz, the raw energy of funk, and modern influences from hip-hop and electronic music. Without a fixed musical leader, their compositions emerge from collective sessions, giving the music a distinctive dynamism and organic density. Already a mainstay of Paris’s live music scene, the crew has been touring France and Europe for more than a decade.
