Exactly ten years ago, they took the stage for the very first time—a small set in an even smaller venue at Vienna’s Naschmarkt, a handful of freshly written songs, a little nervousness, but plenty of charm. Ten years later, Marina & The Kats are far more than a well-kept secret. They have become the flagship of a new, independent swing movement, playing more than 700 concerts, releasing five albums, and sending two tour buses into retirement. Originally formed as a trio and later expanded to a quartet, the band has been one of the country’s most exciting and compelling acts for years. Anyone who has experienced one of their energy-packed shows will gladly confirm it.
