Pixvae is a danceable musical encounter mapped onto an imaginary continent. At the crossroads of Africa, the Atlantic, and the Pacific, bandleader Romain Dugelay has assembled a seven-piece ensemble that connects traditional Colombian music with Lyon’s underground scene. The result is an explosive blend of Afro-Colombian rhythms, polyphonic, call-and-response-style vocals, and irresistible songs somewhere between Latin rock and jazz.
