Sophie Abraham (NL/AUT)

Born in Groningen, the Netherlands, cellist Sophie Abraham composes, interprets, and improvises with a passion for crossing musical boundaries. Her artistic home lies somewhere between classical music, jazz, contemporary composition, and experimental soundscapes.
For her new pieces, she draws inspiration from everyday life: “Things that happen here and now and that touch me. Above all, it is the beauty within difficulty that fascinates me—especially when life is not going so smoothly.”
