Vienna’s Falter described Woschdog as “a largely unknown but great band.” And rightly so. Their debut album, foin, already offered a compelling blend of downtempo, jazz, electronica, blues, and pop. Their latest album, moloch, continues along the same path: slow, multilayered, and uncompromising, it explores uncharted territory within Austria’s musical landscape. Ingrid Lang’s poetic use of the Viennese dialect intertwines with the complex sound of cellist Lukas Lauermann, Karl Stirner’s liberated approach to the zither, Sebastian Seidl’s rich Rhodes and synths, and Johannes Wakolbinger’s intricate drumming to create an intensely atmospheric listening experience.
