LBT (GER)
Lively techno. Produced purely acoustically, on piano, double bass and drums, with no computer or synthesiser. From lyrical to minimal, from deep to industrial: LBT's sound is multifaceted, always driven by a pulsating kick drum. Their music is an introspective journey, inviting listeners to both dream and dance with joy. The trio grew up in modern jazz and takes their great love of improvisation seriously. Delicate phrasing is played on the piano, or the strings are plucked with a pick, the bass is gently stroked or almost smashed to pieces and the drums are fully exploited from a subtle rustle to a powerful groove.

Artist
LBT (GER)
Pianist Leo Betzl, bassist Maximilian Hirning and drummer Sebastian Wolfgruber started out as a modern jazz trio. Betzl founded the band with some fellow students in 2015 at the Jazz Institute of the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts, and they released their first album, “Levitation” in 2016. Maxi Hirning convinced his colleagues to include techno in their repertoire in 2017, and since then they have been playing a hybrid of jazz and techno, featuring pieces by Leo Betzl, underscored by their jazz experience. Some performances consist of a set of techno and the second set of modern jazz, and they delight their audiences with both.
