Alex Kranabetter transcends the boundaries of conventional trumpet playing in his performances to create music that moves between free improvisation and electroacoustic sound art. What starts as a fragile miniature quickly develops its own organic dynamic and exerts a hypnotic pull. Ephemeral melodies, sombre loops, drones and jerky beats that takes us through reverberating empty spaces shape the sound architecture. The result is multi-layered, introspective pieces that transcend formal constraints.

Alexander Kranabetter (AUT)
Alexander Kranabetter was born in 1988 in Lauterach and now lives and works as a freelance musician in Vienna. He completed his studies in jazz and improvised music at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with distinction in the autumn of 2015, focusing on classical trumpet. He is currently engaged in musical activities with bands and projects as diverse as mos, Voodoo Jürgens, Fuzzman, Fainschmitz, Tumido Orchester, Matt Mottel, Kevin Shea, Euroteuro, Ingrid Schmolliner and Andreas Trobollowitsch, to name a few. He also performs as a soloist in performing arts and free improvisation projects.
