Rachel Eckroth Trio (USA)
Rachel Eckroth and her trio bring a fascinating blend of modern jazz, ambient sounds and experimental playing to the stage. She regularly demonstrates her special flair for visionary crossover sounds on her own albums but keeps returning to jazz; for example on the Grammy-nominated disc “The Garden” or on her most recent album, “One”, which marked her highly acclaimed solo improvisational debut. The live album “Humanoid”, on the other hand, focuses “more on the songs and what we can get out of them rather than on what we can add to them” says Eckroth. She also demonstrates her playing flexibility. A sound as virtuosic as it is visionary.

Rachel Eckroth Trio(USA)
Few people can move as confidently and successfully between diverse genres as a pianist, composer and singer Rachel Eckroth. She has deep roots in jazz and frequently performs as a singer-songwriter or plays the keyboard with greats such as Rufus Wainwright and the singer and multi-instrumentalist St. Vincent, with whom she won a Grammy in 2025. In 2023, Rachel Eckroth released her live album “Humanoid” with Tina Raymonds on the drums. Together with bassist Emma Dayhuff, who has already performed with Herbie Hancock and Cécile McLorin Salvant, they later performed the album on a trio tour of Europe. This tight-knit group is now coming to Salzburg.
