Zsófia Boros (HUN)
The magazine Fono Forum described the guitar playing of Zsófia Boros as follows: “Boros is a master of dynamic nuances who can withdraw completely into her instrument, lowering the struck notes almost to the realm of the inaudible, only to then allow them to burst out again”. The American music magazine Fanfare praised her “clear, beautiful tone, liquid phrasing, precise layering of melody and accompaniment, fluid figuration and her emphatic sense of mood and emotion”. Her current album is entitled “El último aliento”, “The Last Breath”. This superb guitarist explains: “Most people immediately associate those words with dying and, when you think about it, death affects us all and connects us all. It's something intangible, beautiful and, at the same time, universally unifying”.
